Mozilla is hiring a Financial Analyst Intern onto our team in San Francisco! You will undertake a project that gives Mozilla impactful and actionable analytics. This project is aimed at helping the organization analyze cost effectiveness and profitability of Mozilla’s programs. During this project, you will learn the true cost of normal business operations, how an organization forecasts and analyzes its revenue/spend, and how finance plays an integral role in a company’s success. 

Additionally, as part of the finance organization, you will partner with finance business partners and other key business clients throughout the organization to create financial insight and guidance to the organization. Some of the examples include preparing annual budget plan, spend analysis, investment modeling and other ad-hoc tasks that help Mozilla make sound financial decisions backed by data. You will report directly to a finance business partner who will mentor you and help prepare you for the world of corporate finance and accounting.

As a part of our Mozilla Internship Program, you will:

  • Impact challenging projects in our Firefox web browser (accessibility, voice design, developer tools, mobile, and mixed reality), Rust, Pocket, and more
  • Be mentored by a fellow teammate and someone who shares the same values

  • Participate in social events with your fellow interns (amusement parks, ice cream and boba socials, board game nights, escape rooms, and painting parties)
  • Meet with Mozilla leaders including our CEO, Executive Chairwoman, CPO, Chief R&D Officer, CMO, and Executive Foundation Director
  • Present your work to Mozilla leaders and fellow team members

Application and Interview Process

  • Recruiting begins in September, and we hire on a rolling basis through March. While there is no set application deadline, we do have a limited number of positions open each year, so please apply early!
  • Locations include Mountain View, San Francisco, Toronto, Berlin, and Paris. Please refer to our internship listings for specific locations offered by position.
  • Process starts with a resume review followed by a HackerRank challenge (technical) or document submission (non-technical).
  • Upon passing, you will partake in two technical and/or behavioral interviews with team members (coding and/or situational questions are fair game) followed by a hiring manager interview and ultimately, an offer decision. 

Qualifications: 

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s (preferred) degree program in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Data Analytics or a related discipline
  • Graduation date starting December 2020 and onward 
  • Experience with profit analysis and financial modeling
  • Understanding of business terminology / relevant finance & accounting coursework 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Office Suite
  • Ability to multitask, perform in a fast-paced environment & respond quickly to situational needs as they arise 
  • Strong communication and social skills 
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent organization, time management, and interpersonal skills 
  • Familiarity with how to access and employ a variety of resources 
  • Ability to interpret large amounts of data and produce results independently and collaboratively in a team
