The Challenge

Mozilla is building a new generation of products for billions of users. This role is the leader of product operations for these new products, reporting to Mozilla’s COO. You will help structure and run the product organization to help us ship new products that create a better internet for a better world, while also bringing in revenue that allow us to sustain our mission.

The head of product operations will also run horizontal functions that support multiple products in the portfolio, such as program management. In addition, you will serve as a chief of staff to the COO, helping drive the team to the most impact and holding all of ourselves accountable.

Your success in the role will have global impact for billions of users as we ship user-centric products and make a better internet, aligned with the Mozilla manifesto.

The Opportunity

  • Program Management and Operations:

    • Structure operations processes for a multi-product organization, driving operational efficiency, transparency, accountability and growth

    • Lead planning, budgeting, project reviews, and talent planning

    • Develop the analytical frameworks and operating models for a large organization

    • Engage and solicit input from partners across the organization

    • Help drive a culture of user-centricity

  • Team and people leadership:

    • Lead key support teams of 30+ professionals

    • Establish clear goals for the team. Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Drive team performance to deliver results

    • Hire new talent to correspond with specific capabilities, skill sets, and workforce plans

    • Work across the leadership team to unlock all of our leaders talents to bring the best possible product vision to reality

The Skill Set

  • 5+ years as Head of Operations, Chief of Staff or General Manager in a fast-paced product environment

  • Prior people-management experience; this is not an individual contributor chief of staff role

  • Experience running horizontal teams that support product groups such as: Program Management, User Experience, Support, or Strategic Planning

  • Experience setting up and running business rhythm, reports, key performance indicators (KPI’s), objectives and key results (OKR’s) for large, multi-product teams

  • Keen understanding of business effectiveness and revenue opportunities

  • Track record of bringing new products and technologies to market (even better if you’ve done this in hyperscale B2C companies)

  • Collaborative and self-motivated, with effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Highly respect and promote diversity & inclusion in the workplace by identifying and supporting diversity and inclusion strategies in hiring and developing geographically dispersed teams

  • Strong program management with a user-centric, global approach

  • Experience in structuring and executing complex analyses to support strategy in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment
