The Position

Mozilla is looking for a Firefox Necko Student Worker (Werkstudent) to join our teams to help us protect people as they experience the Internet. This position is only open to people currently enrolled in an academic institution whether that be a trade school, a university, or community college located in Germany.

Your Professional Profile

  • You have experience with HTTP and TCP/IP protocols and knowledge of basic networking principles.
  • You have experience with programming in C/C++ and/or Rust. Knowledge of JavaScript is a plus.
  • You speak English fluently and enjoy conducting software engineering work in the open.
  • You are enrolled in a university and are available to come to our Berlin offices during regular working hours depending on your schedule.

You will help us to improve the network layer of Firefox and the web in general. We offer flexible working hours and competitive compensation depending on the number of hours. You will be able to participate in our office life, including catered lunches and various social activities. Please note that currently Mozilla follows a strict mobile working policy due to the pandemic and our offices remain closed until further notice.
