Mozilla is hiring Software Engineering Interns into our technical teams throughout the world. Our headquarters are based in the Bay Area, but we also have opportunities at our offices in Portland, Vancouver, Toronto, London, Paris, and Berlin!

We are engineers, designers, makers, and problem solvers. We work in the fishbowl known as the open source community, with a clear focus on making the Web better. Working with us, you’ll help build interesting new features and improvements in Firefox. To be part of the team, we ask that you be technically-curious, a capable and always-interested-in-learning-more programmer, and excited to be moving the Mozilla mission forward.

Mozilla isn’t just a great place to work, it’s an experience you’ll carry with you throughout your career. As part of our internship program, you’ll have the opportunity to be mentored one-on-one by a talented and experienced developer, to impact the projects you’ll collaborate on, and to never be bored. Ever. From the passionate people you’ll learn from, to the chances you’ll have to make the Web a better place, your time with Mozilla will be unlike any other.

Below is a small snapshot of the work we do to give you an idea about some of the big things you could do at Mozilla.

We are currently looking for 4 interns in our Toronto office!

Desktop Firefox Engineering Intern (Toronto)

The Desktop Firefox team handles the engineering for much of what makes the browser a great application for users, and more than just a rendering engine. You’ll have the opportunity to work on many facets of Firefox, from creating a refined UI that balances power and simplicity to components that store user data and integrate with online services. Expand your programming skills across multiple domains — Firefox uses cutting-edge JavaScript and CSS for its UI, C/C++ in the core, and platform-specific toolkits too. Be part of a small team with a large reach, where individuals can have a major impact.

Firefox Sync Intern (Toronto)

Firefox Sync provides a way for Firefox users to synchronize their browsing context, such as bookmarks, history, preferences, add-ons, etc. across every device they own. Its client implementation is present on all platforms where Firefox is available: Desktop, Android and iOS.

The gatekeeper to this service, our authentication provider and much more, is Firefox Accounts which is used by millions of users every day.

We're seeking an enthusiastic intern who is keen to work across the full service stack, from front-end UI to back-end server code, to help our users get connected as quickly, seamlessly, and securely as possible. Being able to take initiative is a plus.

You could expect to do some work on either (or all of!): Python and Node.js back-end servers, Javascript on Firefox Desktop, Java on Firefox for Android or even Swift on Firefox iOS.

You will be working with a team distributed all around the globe (America, Europe, Australia), shipping open sourced, high quality code, to millions of users.

Accessibility Engineer Intern (Toronto)

The accessibility team works creatively to ensure everyone can use the web. For this internship we are seeking a front end engineering intern to collaborate with multiple teams to help build something amazing into Firefox.
